Docs/Using Keplar

Study mode

Turn a text-based PDF or your notes into an outline, summary, flashcards with spaced review, quizzes and a day-by-day plan, and ask questions answered only from your material.

Study mode is on every plan, including Free. Free runs on free models with smaller limits; Lite, Plus and Pro use stronger models and allow longer documents.

Steps

  1. Open Study in the app.
  2. Upload a PDF whose text you can select, or paste your notes.
  3. Wait for Keplar to build the set: an outline, a plain-English summary, flashcards, quizzes and a plan.
  4. Set your exam date to get a day-by-day plan across the material.
  5. Review flashcards with spaced repetition: cards you miss come back sooner.
  6. Take a quiz before you feel ready, then study what you missed.
  7. Ask questions in the Ask tab. Answers come only from your material, with page references.

What is stored

The extracted text, the study set and your progress are stored in your account until you delete the set. Deleting the set removes the text and the progress. The original file is not kept.

Limits and caveats

  • Scanned PDFs cannot be read. There is no text recognition yet. If you cannot select the text in the PDF, paste it instead.
  • Generated cards can be wrong or vague. Skim them against the source before relying on them. A wrong card is worse than none.
  • Answers are limited to your material. If something is not in it, Keplar says so rather than answering from general knowledge.
  • Text inside your document is treated as material to read, never as instructions to Keplar.

Habits that work

Quiz yourself early, space your reviews, and split the material across days. The workflow is described in more detail in the guide How to study from a PDF with AI.
